AI Personalities

The Chrononauts PC AI contains several different "personalities", each of which operates a different way. One might try to win by collecting artifacts, while another might try to win by changing the timeline. When you start the game, you can select the personality you want to use for each computer player.

You may also choose to give each player a random personality. There are two types of random personalities. If you select "Random Personality", the player gets a completely random choice out of all the personalities, with each possible personality equally likely. If you select "Weighted Random Personality" (the default), the personalities that are more "logical" and more competitive (Collector, Homesick, Greedy, and Well-Rounded) are significantly more likely to be picked.

The different personalities are described below.

Collector

The Collector loves artifacts, and will try to win the game by collecting the artifacts necessary for his Mission. If there are no such artifacts available, the Collector may choose to collect anyway, to perhaps sell or sacrifice, or the Collector may try his hand at the Timeline.

Homesick

The Homesick player is just dying to get to his home timeline. He is doing everything in his power to change the timeline in such a way that it conforms to his ID. If he cannot, he may attempt to complete his Mission (so that he can perhaps afford to hire cronies to help him get home).

Greedy

The Greedy player is obsessed with having tons of resources, and does lucrative contract work fixing Paradoxes to gain cards. If he cannot, he may sell some rare items in order to get cards that way. He is attempting to win the game by having 10 cards in his hand.

Well-Rounded

The Well-Rounded player is attempting to win via any means possible. Due to the difficulty of designing such an AI, this player may be slightly less competitive than the others.

Disjunctive

The Disjunctive player hates everyone, and does everything in his power to mess with people. He is a big fan of using cards like Time Vortex and Discontinuity, and also likes to Restore History so that players are foiled in their attempts to get home. He'll steal Artifacts for the fun of it, and best of all, sometimes he might just start World War 3.

Dr. Random

Dr. Random is a very, very confused player. He has no idea what he's doing, and when prompted for action, he will do something completely random. You can never predict what he's going to do next.

Sadistic Suicidal

Can you stop the Sadistic Suicidal personality before he destroys the entire Universe?
