Sherlock is understandably miffed, as both purported judgements were generally agreed to be reasonable. April 2: Goethe proposes winning by voting power. April 8: Murphy notices that a clause of Rule 105 dating back to the August 2006 reforms prevents rule changes not coming directly from a proposal. April 11: Zefram proposes unmerging the Assessor; Murphy proposes the same, along with IADoP and Registrar. Murphy also protoes The Standing Court (an attempt to interpret one of several vague suggestions from Eris). April 27: Murphy proposes a scam that would give em, OscarMeyr, and Quazie an arbitrary veto on proposals and CFJs until granted a token reward. This would be backed by a Power=1 rule (they had sufficient combined voting power to threaten to force its adoption, and Murphy could reduce quorum using the Speaker's Rubberstamp), which would circumvent Rule 101's right to submit these things (by revoking their status post-submission). April 28: Eris registers. comex also allegedly registers, but eir message has a subject but no body, eventually leading to a judgement to the effect that subject lines are ineffective. April 29: To boost voting power and counteract Murphy's scam, CotC Goethe submits three CFJs: * Zefram is wearing a hat. * There are elephants to the left. * We're all mad, here. forcing a Notice of Rotation, then submits six more CFJs (on substantive general questions on possibility and permissibility) which are assigned to and promptly judged by Zefram. Zefram submits eight CFJs (on substantive general questions on a proposal changing the same rule in more than one way), which are assigned to and promptly judged by Goethe. In protest, Maud moves to give the office of CotC back to Murphy (who lost it when e became Speaker from eir paradox win). Despite this (or perhaps because of it), Maud (along with Eris) is included in the subsequent VC spends. Murphy and Quazie keep up the race with their own VC spends (one of Quazie's was sent before the end of the week but received after it). Winning by voting power, contests, unmerging of offices, and rule changes via non-rule instruments are adopted. Human Point Two (a Pineapple-style partnership between Murphy and Quazie) registers. April 30: BobTHJ requests permission to register. May 1: comex registers, in case eir previous attempt failed. May 2: VC penalties for non-performing judges and officers are adopted. May 4: BobTHJ registers, in case eir previous attempt failed. May 6: Despite Levi's support, Murphy's scam is defeated (33 or 35 FOR depending on when Quazie spent some VCs, 41 or 42 AGAINST depending on when BobTHJ registered). Murphy protoes expanding Rule 101 to grant the right to submit proposals and CFJs and actually have them considered in a timely fashion. May 8: Murphy protoes "Mother, May I?", an RFC 2119-style formalization of possibility, permissibility, and recommendation. May 9: Murphy moves to give the partnerships some offices (Pineapple as Registrar, Human Point Two as IADoP). May 11: Primo Corporation (a partnership structured as a charter nomic, with internal votes weighted by share holdings) registers. Murphy creates the Chess Club contest, but it never draws any contestants. May 13: Second-System Effect (a partnership between Murphy and one or more other unnamed players) registers. Murphy and Human Point Two also create and register twelve partnerships (HP3 through HP14) to force the adoption of a scam giving HP2 a win by democratic proposal. May 14: Goethe leaves Pineapple and deregisters, noting that one or more unnamed players have previously joined it. Murphy calls some CFJs regarding their identity, and moves to have the judge order disclosure. Sherlock and Maud deregister. BobTHJ's first attempt at registration is judged successful. Zefram installs emself as Promotor, announcing a policy of cron distributions on Wednesday at 00:53 and Saturday at 12:53 UTC (minutes chosen randomly to avoid thrashing). May 15: BobTHJ proposes legislating the recognition of partnerships. May 17: BobTHJ claims to cause the Pineapple Partnership and Second-System Effect to deregister. Zefram denies the effectiveness of the first claim. Quazie pre-emptively objects to anyone deregistering Human Point Two. Human Point Two is installed as IADoP. May 18: comex claims (in response to an opposite claim by Murphy), under penalty of perjury, that Human Point Two's membership has changed since its registration. Conveniently, the rules define neither perjury nor a penalty for it. Eris judges that messages are sent when they leave the sender's normal control (mirroring CFJ 866's judgement that messages are received when they enter the receiver's normal technical domain of control). Despite eir implication that this is measured by the first Received: timestamp, pretty much everyone continues to look at Date: in practice. Maud protoes merging Agoran Consent into dependent actions. May 20: Murphy leaves Second-System Effect, dissolving it, and reveals it to have been a Pineapple-style partnership with Eris. Maud protoes also merging proposals and dependent actions. May 21: Yin Corp (a Pineapple-style partnership between Zefram and Quazie) and Yang Corp (a similar partnership between Zefram and Yin Corp) register. Yang Corp becomes a partner in Yin Corp; each partnership becomes a partner in itself; then the humans leave. The Hanging Judge (a Pineapple-style partnership between comex and Zefram) registers, to circumvent a bug blocking judicial assignments. It goes on to re-publish several judgements originally written by various pseudo-judges. root registers, then claims to register square root (a corporation sole, with emself as the only partner). May 22: Murphy attempts to join Yin Corp and Yang Corp (unsuccessfuly, as they have no mechanism for agreeing to it). Zefram claims to create a soulless Corporation (dba Nemo) with no partners. The removal of VC awards for democratic proposals is allegedly adopted, but due to confusion over quorum, these and some others are delayed to June 3. HP2's scam proposal is adopted in the next batch, followed by an amendment to reduce partnerships' voting power to zero (fixed for democratic proposals, default for ordinary); HP3 through HP14 voted PRESENT on the non-scam proposals in this batch to ensure quorum. They then deregister. May 23: BobTHJ protoes Protectorates. May 30: Partnerships are legislated. arkestra, GreyKnight, Peter, and sproingie are (via one-off proposal) deregistered for inactivity. May 31: Zefram protoes first-class persons and players. root claims to register eir keyboard. The Pineapple Partnership reveals that Eris joined on May 13. Maud Lynn ("an epiphenomenon of C. Maud Image's mental processes") requests to be listed as a Watcher. June 2: One of Murphy's minor fix proposals is numbered Proposal 5000, which had often been used in discussions of hypothetical future proposals. June 6: Protectorates and The Standing Court are adopted. Zefram, BobTHJ, Murphy, and root are the first four to sit up. root (a shareholder but not a member of Primo) claims to change eir share holdings to one million (since e is not prohibited from doing so) and give half to Murphy. June 7: BobTHJ claims to register Bob's Quality Cards (a partnership between em and a non-player, governed by Colorado law) and have it create infinite Primo shares and give them all to BobTHJ. This is ruled unsuccessful, as Colorado law is fundamentally incompatible with Agoran law (e.g. it nullifies contracts to perform illegal acts). June 9: The Hanging Judge dissolves. June 14: B Nomic becomes a Protectorate. bd_ requests to be listed as a watcher. June 17: Endymion requests to be listed as a watcher. First-class persons and players are adopted. June 18: root proposes repealing the Cantus Cygneus rule, under the conceit of the rule asking em to publish its own Cantus Cygneus. June 19: Murphy protoes the generalization of formal rule numbers to proposals and CFJs, in response to a question of whether a customary CFJ number could be effectively used before the CotC announced it. Primo becomes a Protectorate. root responds by proposing Agora becoming one. June 20: comex proposes Agora registering. bd_ registers. Murphy protoes colored VCs (under the name "A Suffusion of Yellow"; comex responds by re-proposing the Terrible Proposal that helped kill Rishonomic). June 21: Gunner Nomic 2.0 allegedly registers and becomes a Protectorate, but these actions are eventually judged unsuccessful. OscarMeyr becomes a partner in Human Point Two. June 22: Changing the cutoff for democratic proposals from AI > 1 to AI < 2 is adopted. Goethe protoes Minister Without Portfolio as a one-off appointment to verify and approve a claimed Protectorate. June 27: Proposals adopted at this time include: * Generalizing agreements from players to persons. * Awarding the Patent Title of Left in a Huff to those who published a Cantus Cygneus (Andre, Kelly twice, Goethe). * The escutcheon (shield) of Agora (not coat of arms, which would also include other items).
